Fast drydown with yields comparable to a 90-day corn! It offers good tonnage with over 140 bu/ac and excellent disease resistance. It’s a great choice for those with shorter growing seasons who want to add nutrient-dense silage or grain to their operation.
Our Tug-of-War 85-day conventional corn seed is ideal for those looking to add another feed or silage option to their farm.
Tug-of-War Corn is a tender, GMO-free, warm-season annual best planted after the soil temperature reaches 55°F (15°C), usually two or three weeks after the last frost in spring. Corn requires 60 to 100 frost-free days to reach harvest, depending on the variety and the heat during the growing season. Corn thrives in air temperatures from 60° to 95°F (16° to 35°C). Corn planted in cold, wet soil is unlikely to germinate.
Plant at a 2″ depth to allow for maximum brace root support, enabling a larger stand height. A 3″ planting depth is acceptable for exceptionally dry areas, as this allows better moisture absorption in drier climates.
Our corn comes in 80,000-kernel bags, and we recommend a planting population of 28k to 34k.
