Our Tug-of-War 95-day untreated conventional corn seed is great for those looking to add another feed or even silage option to their farm.
Tug-of-War Corn is a tender, warm-season annual that is best planted after the soil temperature reaches 55°F (15°C), usually two or three weeks after the last frost in spring. Corn requires 60 to 100 frost-free days to reach harvest, depending on the variety and the amount of heat during the growing season. Corn grows best in air temperatures from 60° to 95°F (16° to 35°C). Corn planted in cold, wet soil is unlikely to germinate.
Plant at a 2″ depth to allow for maximum brace root hold, facilitating a larger stand height. A 3″ deep planting rate is okay for areas that are exceptionally dry. The deeper planting rate allows for better moisture absorption in drier climates.
Our corn comes in 80,000-kernel bags, and we recommend a planting population of 28k-34k. Ideal for areas 50 miles north and south of the I-90 corridor.
