Fast drydown with yields comparable to a 90 day corn! Good tonnage with over 140 bu/ ac. and good disease resistance. Great choice for those with shorter growing seasons but would like to add nutrient dense silage/grain to their oper
Our untreated corn is a good choice to be used in organic farming or for those transitioning.
Our Tug-of-War 85 day untreated conventional corn seed is great for those looking to add another feed or even silage option to their farm.
Tug-of-War Corn is a tender, warm-season annual that is best planted after the soil temperature reaches 55°F (15°C), usually 2 or 3 weeks after the last frost in spring. Corn requires 60 to 100 frost-free days to reach harvest depending upon variety and the amount of heat during the growing season. Corn grows best in air temperatures from 60° to 95°F ((16-35°C). Corn planted in cold, wet soil is unlikely to germinate.
Plant at 2" in depth to allow for maximum brace root hold allowing for larger stand height. A 3" deep planting rate is ok for areas that are exceptionally dry. The deeper planting rate allows for better moisture absorption in dryer climates
Our corn comes in 80,000 kernel bags and we recommend a planting population of 28k-34k.
Ideal for areas 50+ miles north of the I-90 corridor.
